this film was one of ten fiction shorts made for the BBC2 '10 x 10' series.
we meet Col (lovely) plodding through the days working for Butch (weasly) at his roadside tea-stand in Scotland. it rains - a lot. inspired by old Tam (beardy) and his tales of new york, Col knows she has to escape or go barmy. loved by the UK press ( Time Out: "this beautiful short outshines most contemporary British feature films" The Daily Telegraph: "Two lives and a welter of imagination encapsulated in a gentle 10 minutes” ), it still pops up around the world on late night TV schedules, twelve years on.
